“I have just returned from my visit to various polling stations in Lefkosia. I have my own view of what is taking place and I am also being briefed regularly by the Returning Officers”, he said.
“Minor issues that occur are being handled immediately by the Returning Officers and their staff, and with my own guidance where necessary”, the Chief Returning Officer clarified.
Replying to a question on whether complaints have been made regarding messages to voters from the campaign staff of any candidate, the Chief Returning Officer said that some incidents have been reported, but as he explained, these issues fall within the competence of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection
