Elections 2024 – Voting by citizens of other EU countries
The Chief Returning Officer announces that in the forthcoming elections of 9th June 2024, citizens of other European Union (EU) countries residing in Cyprus have the right to vote, provided that they are registered on the special electoral rolls for the elections of Local Government and the elections of Members of the European Parliament.
For the elections of Local Government, voters can vote by presenting either an EU voter ID card or the document under which they have been registered on the relevant special electoral roll. For the elections of Members of the European Parliament, voters can vote by presenting the document under which they have been registered on the relevant special electoral roll. The document, under which the registration was made, may be an ID card of the Republic of Cyprus, an ID card of an EU member state, a MEU1 form, a Cyprus yellow slip or a passport of an EU member state.
Voters can be informed about the polling station where they will vote, the elections in which they are have the right to vote as well as the number of preference crosses via the “What and Where do I vote?” service, available on the elections website elections.gov.cy, by entering the number of the document with which they were registered on the electoral roll and their date of birth. It is noted that if the document number includes a hyphen (-), it should be replaced by 00 or 000, so that the total number of digits of the document is ten.
Information on the polling station where voters can exercise their right to vote can also be provided via a text message (SMS) to 1199, by texting: wtv space document number space date of birth; e.g. wtv 1010111 01/06/1990.

It is noted that there is a charge of €0.04/SMS for the SMS service and a charge of €0.12/minute for the Pancyprian number.
