Presidential Elections 2023 – Repeat election: Statement by the Chief Returning Officer, Dr Costas Constantinou, on voter turnout until 12 noon when the ballot boxes were temporarily closed
Ballot boxes in all 1.129 polling stations, which operate in the Republic of Cyprus, Greece and Bulgaria, were temporarily closed at 12 noon, for a one-hour interval. Voting will recommence at 1.00 p.m..
According to the data provided by the Returning Officers, until 12 noon 35,4% of registered voters voted, while the respective percentage in the first round of the elections was 33,7%, which indicates an increase of 1,7%.
For information purposes, please note that compared to the corresponding time in the 2018 Presidential Elections where the percentage had reached 32,6%, an increase of 2,8% is observed.
